Workforce Extensions Footscray, our valued client is seeking a professional, quality and focused experienced Shipping Container Surveyor to join their growing team based in Laverton North.

As a Shipping Container Surveyor, you will play a vital role in ensuring our shipping containers meet stringent safety and quality standards. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and quoting repair needs, managing workflows, and ensuring equipment is ready for hire or sale. Previous experience in shipping container surveying or repair is preferred, though not essential. Your metal trade background and problem-solving skills are what we value most!


Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Conduct detailed inspections of shipping containers, grading and quoting repairs
  • Identify and address light damage through minor repairs such as dent removal, patching, and seal adjustments
  • Work closely with repair teams to prioritise and complete necessary work
  • Maintain accurate records, including photos and work orders, ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Assist with yard management, including equipment rotation, safety inspections, and dispatch readiness
  • Uphold safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to maintain a safe, efficient work environment

About You

  • A background in metal trades with experience in repairing and handling steel or aluminium products preferred
  • Previous experience in shipping containers surveying.
  • IICL certificate preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately assess and record equipment condition
  • A proactive and professional attitude, coupled with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient forklift operation skills, with experience in safely manoeuvring heavy or oversized items preferred
