Production Supervisor

Location: Breakwater

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to manage and oversee the business requirements related to our overall production process. This role is critical in ensuring that our production lines are efficiently and effectively coordinated to meet customer demand while maintaining high safety and quality standards. As the Production Supervisor, you will directly manage all production operators and work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Production Strategies: Implement and manage day-to-day production strategies that align with both short-term and medium-term business goals.

Training and Development: Train and educate floor staff and production personnel on roles and machinery operations. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and training to ensure staff performance meets required levels.

Cross-Functional Communication: Maintain continuous communication and collaboration with Quality Assurance, Planning, Logistics, and the Production Manager to ensure smooth operations.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all documentation is accurate and completed according to standards. Report and communicate any quality issues to the Quality Assurance team.

Safety and WHS Compliance: Collaborate with OHS representatives on safety initiatives and ensure that all recommendations are implemented. Oversee incident reporting and work with HR to mitigate risks.

Production and Manufacturing: Implement the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring progress, and resolving issues. Report results to the Planning and Production Manager.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is maintained according to the set schedule to prevent breakdowns. Oversee cleaning operations to meet and exceed QA standards.

Staff Management: Coordinate staff rosters, manage day-to-day operator duties, and oversee training and development. Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, including handling complaints and hazard/injury reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in food manufacturing.
• Systematic approach to processes and business operations.
• Strong understanding of time management, planning, and manufacturing tools.
• Organizational and leadership abilities.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in large teams and individually.
• In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and OHS requirements.
