Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Location: Breakwater

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Manager to join our team. This key leadership role is responsible for shaping, developing, and implementing a successful site strategy, ensuring the effective maintenance of buildings, machinery, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This is a hands-on managerial position, where you will be expected to work closely with your team on the floor to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Implementation: Translate the company's mission, vision, and strategic plan into actionable year plans and targets for the site.

Leadership: Lead the maintenance and engineering department, setting an example by embodying the company's values.

Team Development: Continuously develop and optimize the maintenance and engineering organization, mentoring and coaching team members to reach performance goals.

Maintenance Planning: Create and manage a maintenance schedule for machines, buildings, and equipment, ensuring high performance and safety standards.

Risk Management: Proactively ensure that all maintenance and engineering work meets safety and quality requirements, fostering a risk-conscious culture.

Documentation: Maintain accurate operating and technical documentation for machinery and equipment.

Vendor Management: Represent the company in engineering matters with suppliers, managing relationships to support operational needs.

Operational Management: Oversee daily maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and managing resources efficiently.

Safety and Compliance: Work with OHS representatives to implement safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.

Budget Management: Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, ensuring all expenditures are within agreed limits.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Logistics, Planning, and HR to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to travel internationally for training, so a current passport is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of processing, filling equipment, and automation.
  • Experience with maintenance programs (e.g., TPM).
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and OHS requirements.
  • Proven experience in project management, safety, and efficiency programs.
  • Hands-on, resilient, and stress-resistant, with the ability to manage day-to-day issues effectively.
