About the business

As a leading, family owned earthmoving business A & K Tucker have been servicing the Geelong and greater South West area for a number of years. They have developed strong long term relationships with a variety of organisations including councils and government departments, major civil contractors and development companies through to smaller domestic clients. They have a focus towards quality workmanship and utilise the newest equipment possible. As the team enters their next phase of growth we are seeking an experienced Foreman to join their team.

About the role

This position will provide a key link in the coordination of projects and will ensure that deliverables are met whilst maintaining a focus on quality and safety. Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders including staff, contractors, clients and directors will be a major focus.

Standard responsibilities will also include;

  • Supervise and coordinate internal staff and subcontractors to ensure work is completed to project quality standards and budgets
  • Review specifications and designs to assist in planning and scheduling works on site and report potential risks with construction activities
  • Complete initial set out of projects
  • Understand project safety requirements and ensure they are applied on site through the use of pre-starts and toolbox meetings, inductions, site safety walks and inspections
  • Organise and supervise the safe usage of materials, plant and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and community management plans

About you

We are looking for an experienced Foreman who wants to join a market leading company for the long term. Desirable skills, attributes and experiences that are sought after include:

  • Civil site experience with project values between $100,000 to $5mil
  • The ability to lead small and large project teams
  • A strong understanding of drawings and technical specifications
  • Ability to understand and run projects with a high level of detailed planning
  • Excellent understanding of safety, environment and quality to ensure compliance to project KPIs
  • Proven safety record from previous projects
  • Possess the ability to work autonomously and manage workloads
  • Strong eye for detail
  • The ability to be hands on when required
  • The ability to take direction and relay significant information to management
