Breakfast Sous Chef

Opening in mid-October, is a new cafe aiming to bring some of Melbourne's best to the Geelong Cafe scene. Our client is in search of an experienced Breakfast Sous Chef with a passion for quality to join their team.

This café, opening Tuesday to Sunday each week have built a team who are fun and professional, community minded, excellent communicators, have barista experience, love coffee, and want to be a part of something new and exciting.

Your Responsibilities:

• Responsible for stock control & minimising food wastage
• Cleaning & maintaining a hygienic work station and kitchen environment at all times
• Estimating stock requirements and ordering stock to ensure kitchen is fully stocked for service
• Demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene
• Fostering a positive, energetic, and collaborative team environment
• Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout kitchen
• Following safety and hygiene regulations and procedures around food handling, storage, preparation
• Work closely with the management team

Our dream team member:

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
• Previous busy cafe experience in a senior role
• Cert 3 in hospitality (preferred)
• Has a great work ethic
• Must be able to work autonomously and within a team environment
• Displays excellent presentation and preparation skills with an eye for detail
• Must be able to work weekends

With café opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday the successful applicant will be required to be available for weekend and mid week shifts (between 6am-2pm) on a full time permanent basis.
