Our History

Workforce Extensions was established in 1997 in the Dandenong Ranges just east of Melbourne by founder, Andrew Hibgame. From humble beginnings the business grew significantly and it became apparent that the reason for the company’s success was founded in the strong office teams.

To recognise the hard work of the local teams Andrew decided to share the rewards and franchised the offices to those office managers. This saw the birth of our franchising program.

In 2003 the business was sold to Keith Badger and Michael McTiernan. With backgrounds in franchising, Keith and Michael both believed in the power of franchising as a business model to deliver strong outcomes. Shared responsibility allows for local relationships with clients, while the financial strength and expertise of the franchisor adds strength and value to the whole operation.

In 2018 Keith and Michael retired and the business was sold to business partners Peter Miglic and Nigel Ashton. Peter and Nigel brought their extensive corporate backgrounds in civil engineering and construction, IT and commercial property to the business; and with them, their passion for people, ethical operations, smart business practises and their drive for success.

In our 25+ years of operation, WE are proud to support a growing network of offices, all owned and operated by passionate franchisees who provide casual, temporary and permanent personnel to many industries across Australia.

WE are also proud members of the Recruitment, Consulting & Staffing Association Ltd Australia & New Zealand (RCSA), which is the peak body for the recruitment, staffing & workforce solutions industry across Australia and New Zealand. All Workforce Extensions offices are owned and operated by locals in their community. The franchise model allows each office to focus their time on providing premium customer service to you, whilst most of the back-end of running the business is managed by the National Office.
